Business Development Manager

Role objective
• To ensure MEDG is self-sustaining with good financial security and appropriate recognition and profile.

Duties, responsibilities and accountabilities
• Assess funding priorities and opportunities, develop and implement business planning so as to generate sustainable income for MEDG in line with the strategic plan
• Play an active role in strategic reviews and contribute to the wider thinking and planning of the organization
• Develop opportunities to raise public awareness of MEDG
• Track local, regional, national and international funding opportunities in order to identify needs and opportunities
• Establish new fundraising initiatives. These include developing relationships with major donors, building corporate giving programs and both public and individual donation systems
• Work with the Leadership group to maintain oversight over the organization development plans
• Review projects planning on a regular basis with program manager
• Review ICT developments and offer feedback to the leadership team activities on a regular basis summarize and report back to leadership group on business development, activities on a regular basis
• Discuss exception issues promptly with senior staff and strategic director
• Clarify with senior staff when major variations to plans seem likely to occur and recommend remedial action
• Maintaining Financial oversight over organisation support costs

Educational Background
• A Master’s Degree in relevant area or a comparable combination of education and experience
• Experience in working in educational programs in challenging circumstances
